Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Why do we get wrinkles?
Time, air pollution and sun exposure lead to unwelcome changes of your skin texture, color and elasticity. As damage occurs, the outer layer of skin, the epidermis, becomes thicker and the inner layer, the dermis, becomes thinner. The production of collagen and elastin fibers slows down. Fine lines, enlarged pores, and thick roughened skin appear. The goal of any skin rejuvenation technique is to turn over the skin more rapidly, to thin down the outer layer and stimulate the inner layer to increase the production of collagen and elastin fibers.

There are multiple techniques that are used successfully to return the skin to a more youthful state of improved elasticity, texture and tone. After extensive research, we have combined the following techniques into a number of different packages to achieve the desired results without any downtime.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light or LimeLight)
Uses gentle light pulses to erase sun spots and diffuse redness on all body parts leaving normal skin unaffected.

What is IPL?
Intense Pulsed Light is a non-invasive treatment that can treat skin without disruption of the skin surface. It has a low risk of complications and very little recovery time. IPL can treat numerous skin conditions at once. It is effective on red blemishes that originate from blood vessels, as well as brown pigmented blemishes in the form of freckles, age spots and other sun damage. IPL also treats the neck, chest and hands where sun damage is most visible. It is exceptionally effective at treating pigmented lesions and diffuse redness. The visible light delivered by the IPL is selectively absorbed by the pigmented spots or redness in your skin. This treatment is sometimes referred to as photo-rejuvenation.

What areas can be treated?
We can treat any part of your body with sunspots, freckles and/or redness. The most popular areas for treatment are the face, chest, shoulders, arms and hands because they have suffered from the most sun exposure.

What does it feel like?
When the handpiece is placed on your skin, it will feel cool and comfortable. When the pulse of light is delivered, you may feel a mild, brief stinging sensation. Immediately following the treatment, the spots may start to darken. You may notice a slight reddening of the surrounding skin. This typically subsides within a couple of hours. Over the course of the next one to three weeks, darkened spots will fade and flake off.

How many treatments will I need?
Typically, three or five treatments are sufficient to see dramatic results. Additional treatments may be required for very large or dark spots or for densely covered areas.

When will I see results?
Most patients find that the majority of their treated spots have shown significant improvement within two to three weeks of treatment. However, your final result may not be apparent for a several months.

Laser Genesis
A comfortable, non-ablative form of laser rejuvenation skin therapy that gently heats the dermis to stimulate and increase the production of collagen and elastin fiber growth. You can expect to see subtle yet consistent results after each treatment without any downtime.

The Laser Genesis procedure utilizes non-invasive laser technology to safely and effectively treat fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, uneven skin texture, diffuse redness and rosacea, and acne scarring. It is also used to improve sun damage in all areas of the face, neck, arms, and back.

The Laser Genesis gently heats the dermis to stimulate and increase production of fibroblasts, which encourages collagen and elastin fiber growth. Additional heat is generated in dilated capillaries to reduce redness. Overall, this treatment will slow down the aging process and improve skin quality.

Clients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic. You will experience a gentle warming of your skin's surface during the procedure as the laser handpiece is moved back and forth above your skin. You can immediately return to normal activities. It's important that you use sunscreen if you will be participating in outdoor activities.

The treatment results are often subtle. The number and frequency of treatments will be determined by the number and severity of skin conditions being treated, as well as skin type.

Over the course of treatment, Laser Genesis can help restore the skin's youthful glow and appearance by smoothing out uneven textures caused by aging, sun damage, or scars. You will see a more creamy, healthy complexion as imperfections are diminished. The individual treatment results are subtle, but the overall effect of multiple treatments can be quite dramatic.

The Cutera® Titan™
Gives you an all-natural option to enhance skin tone. Titan uses light energy to heat the dermis deep beneath your skin's surface, without surgery, recovery time, or injections, Titan is an ideal solution for your face, arms and abdomen.

Skin Tight in a new light
The new Cutera® Titan™ gives you an all-natural option to enhance skin tone. Titan uses light energy to heat the dermis deep beneath your skin's surface, without surgery, recovery time, or injections. Titan is an ideal solution for your face, arms and abdomen.

How does the Cutera Titan work?
Titan utilizes a safe infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin's surface. During the procedure, the skin's top surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan handpiece.

The Titan difference
Titan's light-based platform provides a more uniform distribution of energy for heating the deep dermis than other energy sources, such as RF (radiofrequency).
What areas respond best to the Titan procedure?

Patients have been successfully treated on many areas of the body. The most common areas treated are the jaw line, under the chin, and the abdomen.

Who can be treated?
Since the Titan procedure heats tissue under the skin's surface, patients of any skin type or age can be treated. Your physician can advise you if the Titan is right for you.
